He just locked up Bush for another four years. He also might have pushed Lieberman over the edge, away from the Democratic party.
Once again, the Democrats will not win another national office if they keep pandering to the far left of their party. Only crazier thing they could do at this point would be to make Kucinich their VP candidate.

How exactly is Dean the "far left"?! I don't think a Democrat who isn't a big fan of gun control, by definition, qualifies as "far left".

From what I've seen, that is Dean's only "off the beaten path" issue.
He talks about government re-regulation of the media, telecom, and airlines. He wants to fully fund social security forever (another government program that won't survive fiscally), expand the federal government, repeal the most recent tax cuts, and increase the military's pay. All this while balancing the federal budget. I think most of those issues are mutually exclusive.
