Kerry Speak, Part 312
From RNS:
Can anyone make sense of this quote? (located about a third of the way down the page)
"The truth, which is what elections are all about, is that the tax burden of the middle class has gone up while the tax burden of the middle class has gone down," he said.

I'd want to see video. It could be a typo. Worst case, he mispoke. It's stump speech stuff, and he meant to say "upper class". But even then, he usually says "the wealthiest Americans" or "the wealthiest 1%".

Yeah, but you have to admit, if I read that while doing a speech I'd have to smack my speechwriter right there and then. I also doubt the NYT writer would screw up a quote that badly, although it could happen.

Also don't forget that when President Bush says something stupid like that it ends up on every left-wing banner you can find.

I did not mean a typo by his speechwriter. I meant a typo courtesy of the news source.
And Bush says somethign stupid every time he opens his mouth without a teleprompter in front of him.
