Update on Brieana Noe

Those of you who might read this blog remember my post about Brieana Noe who was brutally murdered by her own mother in order to prevent her father from gaining visitation and custody. Today the Judge on her case lowered her bail to $60,000 which means she only needs to come up with $6,000 in order to be free while she's on trial for a murder she already confessed to.

Brad, I don't know what to say. I hope no one volunteers up the cash and that she sits in jail.

Is this an act of giving someone a second chance? This is ridiculous. There should be no trial. They should just kill her. Period. She murdered a child. Her OWN child. This kind of thing just makes me sick. And it's worse that now they are almost trying to HELP her get out. I just don't understand it at all.

I remember when I was a kid, some guy in my town _almost_ killed a little girl. I say almost because she was found before dying. A few more hours and who knows what may have happened. When they did find her, it was obvious who had done this to her. About 20 minutes later a pickup truck shows up with about 10 guys in the back. All with shotguns. They were prepared to take care of things right there.

It's not going to take much more for much of this country to get in to that type of shape. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if that might be a good thing.

I still believe in due process, but there is absolutely no way someone who admits to committing first degree murder should get bail. The judge should be ashamed of themselves for setting the bail so low. Brieana's dad already said on local radio that he's sure Judy Noe's family will get the bail money put together and she'll be free until March 2005 when her trial takes place.

If the nice Indiana residents would take seriously their legislative rights and do something about the politics in their state, like letter write; informing their representatives that laws like these, letting people out on bail who kill their family members, need to be changed. If the residents dont vote the reps back in office when they dont do what they are asked, there might be room for reps who WILL change Indiana's laws to actually protect its fair citizens and not leave them DEAD IN THE BATH TUBS. I am pleading you to do SOMETHING that you can ACTUALLY DO!!!

It's not the Legislature but the Judges who interpret the laws who decide what can and can't be done when it comes to bail. I have no idea why Judy wasn't remanded....
