Grab that Viking Helmet and sing along.....(thanks to Weird Al for this one)
There has been a bunch of talk all over the Internet about Chavez's words and the reactions to those words (especially for the oil company Citgo which is owned by the Venezuelan government). I for one, usually use Citgo since it's just down the street from my house. There have been numerous stations all over the city switching brands back and forth, including my local staiton switching to Citgo within the past couple of years.
So I decided to e-mail my local Citgo gas station owner to ask what their plans were with the brand. Apparently 7-11 isn't really making this choice themselves.
Thanks for contacting us regarding your concerns about Citgo and its ties to Chavez and Venezuela. They are timely because Citgo recently announced that they are pulling out of 10 states including Ohio. Because we operate most of our Citgo locations in Ohio, they are also allowing us to exit our contract with them in Indiana. We are currently shopping for a new brand to replace them, and you should see a change in Huntington in the next few months. This is a sad time for a once proud American company. There are many folks in both Tulsa and Houston who are going to lose long-term careers over one man’s false illusions.
Sounds like any 7-11 in those ten states would not have had a choice in the matter.
Eh...no big difference compared to 34.
Well, after a brief discussion and some soul searching, Emily once again will be taking an international trip. Last time it was London with Grandma. This time, she will be attending (pending approval) a trip to Australia in July with People to People Student Ambassadors. The trip is a 18 day excurison where she will live with the group and with a family in Australia living in a slightly different culture.
This trip can be described as "pricey", so Emily will be doing a significant amount of fundraising on her own to pay for a percentage of the trip (mom and dad have committed an amount as well, but Emily is going to be doing some significant work to earn her portion). So if some of you are thinking of Christmas presents for Emily, think "cash for trip" :-)
I will be opening a seperate savings account for Emily tomorrow to keep all funds she raises. Also, taking advantage of my PayPal account, I've put a link on the blog for those of you who wish to donate to this adventure.
I'll update everyone on the status of the trip as this moves forward.

Last time, it was a blowout of what would be the team that beat us in the playoffs. This time, it's a team that's been rebuilding since 1957. ;-) And this time, I had a few more family members along.

Next time it's Krystal's turn.
"We want a personal apology (from the Pope). We feel that he has committed a grave error against us and that this mistake will only be removed through a personal apology," Muslim Brotherhood Deputy Leader Mohammed Habib told Reuters.
No problem, just make an apology for 9/11 and we're all good. ;-)

Honestly, this was the first thing I thought of when saw this picture...

His success ratio was pretty low, but he put on a spectacular show.... And now he's got gainful employment in Colorado.
Almost every time I hand out a chore around here, it's done half assed. No seriously. Dishes in the dishwasher? Find a crap load of icky spoons in the bottom of the sink and the dishwasher not even started.
How about lawnmowing? Until now, I've never seen someone actually "run" when they are mowing the lawn. And apparently moving items such as furniture, basketballs, etc are not on the list since that would involve "effort".
And don't get me started about homework. Two hours, ten problems completed by Miss ADHD 2006.
Maybe I should take up alcohol as a hobby....
